Take A Pause On A Mindful

Oaxaca Retreat

September 18-22, 2025

Spend a mindful & inspiring weekend refreshing your mind, body and soul in lovely Oaxaca de Juarez, Mexico

Day 1-2: Temazcal & Monte Alban Tour

What we will do

On the first two days, we will split into two groups to fully enjoy the intimate and healing nature of the Temazcal experience. While one group heads to the ancient site - Monte Alban - the others will bask in a relaxing steam bath and optional (included) massage. We will all meet again in the afternoon and enjoy dinner together at a local dining venue.

Day 3: Hike & Cacao

Where we will go

We will explore the nearby magical region of Ixtepeji, with a local guide. This area boasts a lush forest, well maintained trails, beautiful views on the hour drive from the city and a delicious lunch at one of the many local stops.

Your retreat includes accommodation for 4 nights in a B&B in the heart of the Historic District and everything listed here:

  • This stunning property, located within the historic district, is just 1 block from Santo Domingo. They are committed to sustainable tourism with eco-friendly soaps, cleaning products, shampoos and conditioners.

  • All breakfasts will be served in the dining area of the B&B, made fresh every morning.

  • We will all enjoy the local Oaxcan cuisine in 3 beautiful restaurants (TBD).

  • We will enjoy a group lunch after our Monte Alban Tour (temazcal participants will have to find lunch on their own).

Our next group lunch will be after our hike in the mountains.

  • I will spend 30 - 45 minutes every morning with you, preparing our bodies, minds and spirits for the day. This will not be required, though highly encouraged!

  • A local guide will pick us up from the B&B and we will spend 4 hours walking the ancient ruins of the Zapotecs, learning about how they lived and after, enjoying some lunch.

  • A driver will arrive at the B&B and take you to Temazcal Mariana, where you will enjoy your ceremonial cleanse and massage. The driver will escort you back to the B&B to enjoy the rest of the day in the city!

  • Our private guide will pick us up at our B&B and we will enjoy a scenic drive outside the city to refresh in the lush forest of Ixtepeji. On our return, we will stop at a local eatery to enjoy a hearty meal after some time outdoors.

Where we will stay

Casa de Las Bugambilias is an absolute gem in the heart of Oaxaca de Juarez’s beautiful historic district. Each room is uniquely designed and named after a flower, their food is freshly made by a wonderful staff every morning and it is conveniently located within one block from Santo Domingo - a church located along the main walking path of the district. We will have the space to ourselves!

Where we will eat

We will dine on local Oaxacan cuisine, which is rich in flavor and highlights the unique regions of Oaxaca.

About Shasta (They, Them)

Your non-binary Spirit Guide, proudly queer, blatinx with Mexican-Chichimecca roots from the north of Mexico. I started my professional career in healthcare - starting with personal training, health coaching and working my way up to becoming an athletic trainer at a major university in southern california. Throughout my career, I noticed patterns in my client work that continuously led me on a journey inward, to become a better practitioner for my clients. In 2018, I left my career and started a business, but I had yet to wrestle with my own inner crisis of identity and purpose. After a program called the Inner MBA for Mindfulness in Business, I embarked on a heritage journey of reclamation, creating new roots, a new business and deepening my spiritual practices and business frameworks that I still utilize today. When I’m not working on the business side of things, I’m walking, hiking, singing, dancing, learning, eating and generally enjoying every moment of my life.
